Motorola Solutions has officially launched its latest product offering to its series of MOTOTRBO two-way radios. Introducing the MOTOTRBO R2 two-way radio - a device that joins the MOTOTRBO R7 as a next-generation offering from the global leader in two-way radio devices.
An upgrade on the DP1400 two-way radio, the R2 is a workhorse radio designed at providing businesses with a mid-range (in terms of pricing) solution that is suitable for the factory floor, the outdoor world and even inside a classroom.
Sleek and nimble in design, the R2 doesn't whimper when it comes to long distance coverage, ease of use, and practicality in terms of audio quality and robustness.
The ultimate workhorse
The MOTOTRBO R2 is engineered to minimise downtime thanks to a simplified user experience, fool-proof ergonomics and low-cost migration. Designed with the end user in mind, the R2 features two programmable buttons, a curved PTT button that is quick to locate and use. For further convenience
The device also comes with a slim, high-density battery that will last an entire shift. Want to know when the battery life is low? Push the PTT button and and an LED light will flash to signal that the device is low on charge.
With an IP55 rating - and meeting Mil-Std-810 requirements across 11 environmental conditions - the R2 is used to different weather conditions, making it a suitable choice in dusty factories, wet outdoor areas and it can withstand the bumps of an active work day.

The comfort of clear audio
The MOTOTRBO R2 has selectable audio profiles, so you can amplify low, middle, or high frequencies to suit the needs of your environment. The radio also has a loud speaker and low distortion, ensuring your message always comes across loud and clear.
More impressively, the R2 comes equipped with SINC+ (the enhanced noise suppression algorithm). This feature automatically adjusts the transparency of noise suppression and increases the noise level of a conversation, improving audio quality and speech intelligibility in the process.
The audio experience can also be customisable with purpose-built audio accessories. These include a new remote speaker microphone that can be robustly secured with a retainer - meaning your staff will be able to communicate without having to reach for the radio.
Long distances, covered
The R2 offers superior range, high receiver sensitivity, high efficiency antennas and high interference immunity. Antennas has purposefully been redesigned to provide clear audio over a long distance. So, if your workforce is spread out over a large area then you can have peace of mind that they'll be able to reach one another.
The R2 is compatible with MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus systems too. This means you can have R2 devices for up to 1000 users across a single-site area.
