Local Authority Enforcement Team Makes the Switch to PoC Technology

A prominent local authority's enforcement team have made the switch from traditional DMR radios to the power of Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) as part of the long-term hire element of their contract renewal with Eemits Communications.
Here is an overview of the new solution they have as part of a new 60-month Managed Service with Eemits Communications - all underpinned by our award-winning modular platform, TRBOCALL.
Infrastructure - PoC and Roaming SIMs
Having been used to two-way radio devices on a Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) system, the local authority decided to switch their focus to PoC - leveveraging cellular coverage and WiFi to experience a wide-area network that utlisies 3G, 4G, 5G, and WiFi infrastructure.
And to ensure the best cellular coverage possible, multi-network roaming SIMs have been provided to the end user. This means that the device will always operate off the best network available in a specific area - helping to reduce any unneccessary downtime or inefficiences that can be caused due to broken lines of communication.
Hardware - Telox TE320 & M6 Devices
Hired over the duration of the 60-month contract, Eemits recommended the Telox TE320 device for use whilst out on the job, and the Telo M6 as base station units in control room environments.
Telox TE320
The Telox TE320 was the handheld device of choice as it is a compact and durable (IP67) PoC device. Working over 3G, 4G, 5G, or WiFi data, the TE320 transmits voice and data on a nationwide basis as standard.
With a 2 inch non-touch display, a dedicate PTT button, a channel selector knob, an emergency button, and a volume button, the TE320 is designed for ease of use.
Other mission critical features include:
Superior background noise cancellation
3W loudspeaker so the enforcement team can operate in noisy environments
MIL-STD-810 open architecture to withstand heavy drops
Long life and replacable battery supporting over 48 hours of 10/10/80 operation (10% receive, 80% standby)
Telox M6
The Telox M6 is a state-of-the art PoC desktop device that combines the Android 10 smart functionality with the two-way radio PTT functionality. Used as a back-up device to PC dispatchers in the Enforcement control room, the M6 offers the following mission critical features:
Dedicated emergency and PTT button
Loud, clear audio with 5W speaker and superior background noise cancellation
MIL-STD-810 open architecture to withstand heavy drops
TRBOCALL PC Dispatcher Hardware
For use in the control room, TRBOCALL PC dispatcher hardware is used to give supervisors full oversight of enforcement team device location, access to PTT functionality and full management of emergency alarms.

Outdoor Location GPS Tracking
When GPS is enabled, it sends location information over 3G, 4G, 5G, or WiFi to a centralised dispatcher or other devices to see the precise locations of end users. Ideal for enhanced worker safety whilst on enforcement duties, the GPS feature also allows for:
Historical Routes - all location information is stored in the database and can be referred back to at any time to monitor user movement during specific time intervals.
Breadcrumb Trails - with this feature the enforcement team can see the location route of users over a specified time period. A combination of real-time positioning and historical routes provides practical visuals.
Geofencing - The customer is able to create one or more predefined geographical areas by drawing virtual "fences" on a map structure and apply rules to users that can enter or leave these areas. For example, a user may not be allowed to enter a restricted area, and if they do, TRBOCALL will automatically send a warning message to the PC dispatcher or other users.
Lone Worker and Panic Alarms
For enforcement teams lone worker features and panic alarms are pivotal in respect to maintaining high levels of worker safety.
The Lone Worker module of the TRBOCALL Mobile Client system sets a time interval in which communication with the lone worker is expected. If the worker does not respond to the prompt, an alarm is activated.
Dedicated panic alarms also send emergency alarm notifications when the button on the device is pressed. This then sends an alarm to PC dispatch units and other device users. GPS coordinates are provided so other users can determine their whereabouts quickly and provide the appropriate response in quick fashion.
Service Wrap - TRBOCALL support
The local authority benefits from a 60-month service wrap provision that is underpinned by our TRBOCALL platform, and that gives them a range dedicated support services.
TRBOCALL Telecare
With TRBOCALL Telecare the local authority get unlimited business hours telephone access to our technical team who provide assistance regarding any issues that relate to the TRBOCALL Mobile Client system.
TRBOCALL React
With TRBOCALL React the customer gets a same day (business hours) response to fix a dispatch system that cannot be fixed remotely. This covers ad-hoc equipment through fault identification. Any software repairs or updates will also be barried to keep the device at a serviceable condition.
TRBOCALL Backup
Multiple layers of system redundancy is achieved as the TRBOCALL hosted sever ensures continuity of service. The system operation also takes a "they know, we know" approach to - as any system downtime is visible to both the customer and Eemits.
This helps to reduce prolonged downtime, and in most cases, issue can be fixed remotely.
TRBOCALL Update
Software updates are provided to make sure the TRBOCALL Mobile Client system has all the latest available features and bug fixes to ensure continued capability with the Telox devices provided.
