Introducing the New Hytera ATEX Radio

Hytera Communications Europe has launched a new product to the ATEX radios market - the HP795Ex. Released in January 2024, the next-generation device replaces the PD795 Ex - which forms part of Hytera's legacy PD series.
In this blog update, we're going to take a deeper dive into what features come with the new model, what systems it works best with, and what solutions it gives business access to, in respect to voice and data communication.
A reliably certified radio
The HP795 is an intrinsically safe Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) portable device. It complies with stringent ATEX directive standards and is built for performance in potentially explosive or hazardous environments, for example Lower Tier and Upper Tier COMAH sites in the UK.
It's distinctive blue outer shell makes it distinguishable as an ATEX device. This makes it more obvious to end users, that it's the device required for use in ATEX zones, and won't be mistaken for a non-ATEX device.
Crystal clear communication
Away from the dotting the Is and crossing the Ts in respect to the ATEX directive, the Hytera HP795 Ex Two-Way Radio offers crystal clear communication, in the form of:
- A 2W high-power speaker that gives louder audio
- An AI noise reduction algorithm that works out background noise automatically
- Multi other audio technology that not only isolates background noise, but addresses weak sound issues too
- Extended coverage that providers end users with more reach when it comes to communicating across site.
Longlasting battery life
Battery performance on a radio is one of the most important things to stay on top of. Modern workforces need the assurance that they can rely on a longlasting, and high performing battery. Without it, downtime is almost guaranteed in respect to effective communication.
The standard 2150 mAh battery benefits from cutting-edge low power consumption technology to help workers last a full a shift and beyond without having to charge the radio. Workers can even check the remaining battery life and battery health directly on the device.
From a safety perspective, the HP795 Ex is designed with a high-grade battery protection board and battery lock which ensures the device avoids potential sparks even if it's dropped accidentaly. If a non-genuine battery is used in the radio, a screen prompt and red flashing LED light will appear to address the safety and security risks of non-genuine parts.
Smart safety features
Safety is proritiy number one in potentially explosive or hazardous environments. With features such as Lone Worker, Man Down, and GPS location tracking, supervisors and managers can keep their workforces as safe as possible - often at the touch of a button.
From a worker location perspective, the device supports the combination of GNSS, BDS, GLONASS and Galileo satellite systems. Positioning accuracy is also enhanced down to one meter, thanks to dual-frequency positioning technology.
